1st Battalion 9th Marines Dog Handlers

1st Battalion 9th Marine Dog Handlers

1st Battalion 9th Marine Dog Handlers

This is a fine group of Marines.  They are serving our country in Afghanistan.  On the bottom row, kneeling to the far right with his Yellow Labrador Retriever, Thor is Sgt. Perla.  Sgt. Perla was injured in a firefight several days ago and is being flown home to the United States.

Please send your prayers out daily for this group of Marines and their dogs.  Please send special prayers to Sgt. Perla so that he will recover soon.

I miss this group of Marines and think of them daily praying for their safe return home.

God Bless each of you.

Marine Handlers and Military Working Dogs

I will always cherish the time I spent training with the the best group of Marines ever and their 4 legged Marines in South Carolina and in California.  I enjoyed my time with them and wanted to share some tid bits over time with everyone.

This group in my book receives an A+ all the way. They came to school tough.  We wonder how we will get them trained.  Once their training is over, we are proud.  We cry.  They leave.  They leave but they will never be far away from us.  They come to us and they steal our hearts.  They are now a part of our family.  They always will be.

They are a young group of Marines with heart, fight and fire.  On the exterior they fear nothing and no one.  Meet 1/9, The Few And The Proud.

Everyone should be as fortunate to meet each and every one of the 1/9 Marine Handlers and their Canines.  At least once a week, I plan on showcasing one of the fine Marines from 1/9 here on my blog.

It is my hope that my blog will allow you to get to know them like I have had the opportunity to.  They are our hero’s.  We hear about them but we aren’t able to meet many of them if any at all.  Sometimes we hear about them on the news like this evening when it’s too late.  It is my hope that you will thank each of these men and their dogs personally and get to know them here on my blog.

Please feel free to comment to them and thank them for their service.  Without these fine men, we wouldn’t be able to sleep at night.

Please pray for each of the men and women who are serving our country.  I think of them every day and pray that they come home safe and sound.

I worked dogs this morning and photographed this evening.  The sun was rather bright but it wasn’t high enough.  I will post some photos here from today but I have to take them over earlier in the day tomorrow or Wednesday.

Off to read a little bit of James Spencer and then off to bed.

Labor Laws

Labor Laws are put in place for a reason.  One of the reasons is to keep employees safe from being demoralized by their immediate boss, other employees and team leaders.  It’s to keep them from having to work in a hostile work environment.

Please reply to this and let me know what you would do if your immediate supervisor yelled at you, dropped the “F Bomb” all over you cussed you in front of other employees.  Would you be humiliated?  Would you yell back or would you take it? What if one of the people in management called you an “effing idiot” in a restaurant in front of other employees?

How would you feel if your immediate boss made fun of your weight or your hair even after you told him to stop?  What would you do?  What would you say?  Who would you say it to? Please comment and let me know what you would do.

The above comments weren’t directed to just one employee, they were made to various employees by various management personnel.  Do you believe this kind of behavior is professional and acceptable?

Now, what would you do if this boss worked for a civilian contractor hired by the United States Military?  Should the United States Military associate with a contractor who is capable of this kind of unprofessional demoralizing behavior?

We want to know.  Please give us your opinion.

Civilian Contractors wasting taxpayer money

What really burns me is the money that is wasted when the government hires contractors.  It’s not the government’s fault, they don’t know what the contractors blow their money on.  They just go over the bids and the contractors put a bunch of play money in their bids.  Guess what folks, we pay for that.

One example….. Contractor A hires kennel staff to care for kennel.  If that is the kennel staff’s job, then why is the kennel staff doing personal work for upper management?  We the people are paying the contractor via the government.  The military is paying for services they aren’t getting because the kennel help is on the clock working elsewhere.  This isn’t bull folks.  I saw this with my own two eyes in my back yard.

We should know exactly what our money is being spent on.  People who work for or are a Civilian Contractor should be more responsible, especially when they are in the position of being responsible.

Introduction

Good morning. My name is Wendy Porch and I currently blog for D3TV. My blog for D3TV is about Labrador Retrievers in the hunting world.

However, I am a Conservative and I’ve decided that I also want to write and/or vent about politics as well and I don’t believe it’s appropriate to blog on D3TV with regard to my personal interests.  So, I’ve decided to open another blog to write about all of my personal interests as well as blog for D3TV!

In this blog, I will write about Life with Labradors, Upcoming Labrador Retriever Litters, Dogs, Animal Health and Nutrition, Politics, Family, Military Working Dogs, DoD, and much more. It maybe a venting board at times. Who knows?

Please stay tuned as I am sure it will be most interesting!

Thank you,
Wendy Porch
