Blu X Angel

Angel has come into season.  It’s been 9 days.  We are breeding her with Blu.  It’s not time and he is DRIVING me insane and I think he’s a bit insane himself.  I can’t wait until this is over!!!

Retriever Training

Chocolate Labrador Retriever running blinds. Kimber

I ran the Labrador Retrievers on school blinds today.  All 3 Labradors did rather well.  No whistle blows on any of the dogs.  Blu didn’t even break.  For those of you who know Blu, I’m sure you just fell off of your chair reading this!

After we ran, we got out the mower and mowed 5 blind tracks for the dogs to run on tomorrow.  I took these photos with my phone and it was overcast.  Maybe I’ll be able to get some better photos with my phone tomorrow.

Have a good night folks and I’ll see you at the line soon!

Sleepy Labradors

Blu, Kimber and AngelHo Hum.  Last night when I went to bed, the above photo is what I saw.  I was thinking, “Where am I going to sleep?” I don’t think they are spoiled at all.

Can you imagine what it’s going to be like when I have a litter of little black and yellow Labrador Retrievers running around?

Labrador Baseball

The other day, Mickey and Noah were out in the field across from the house playing baseball as well as they could with 2 people.

I took Kimber out to air her and we went to watch the kids play.  Noah pitched the ball and Kimber wanted to play.  I wanted to help so I pitched and let the kids bat.  Kimber sat next to me on the mound.  If one of the kids missed the ball when trying to hit it, Kimber went to retriever the ball.  She brought it back to me most times.

Mickey hit a ball out into the field and Kimber retrieved it, brought it to me and we held Mickey at second base.  Noah was up to bat again.  He finally hit the ball after missing it several times while Kimber retrieved it for me.  When he hit the ball into the field, Kimber retrieved it and chased Noah around the bases.  She missed tagging him by probably 4-6 inches near home plate.

You and I know that Kimber didn’t know to tag Noah and she wasn’t even trying.  She was just chasing him having a ball in doing so.  However, she sure looked as if she knew what she was doing in trying to tag him. It was a sight to see.  :)

With Kimber helping me, we held the kids between 1st and 2nd base several times.  Noah, Mickey and Kimber had a ball and I nearly rolled on the ground giggling and laughing watching this beautiful chocolate Labrador retriever playing baseball with the children. The children had just as much fun playing baseball with their beloved Labrador as they would have had playing with a whole team of people.

We played baseball with a yellow ball that was more like a Nerf ball, not a baseball but it was the size of a baseball.

The next time the kids play ball, I’ll have to take some photos so I can post them here for everyone to see.  I’m sure we will have a game taking place on Saturday.

Blu

Blu

I worked dogs this morning and photographed this evening.  The sun was rather bright but it wasn’t high enough.  I will post some photos here from today but I have to take them over earlier in the day tomorrow or Wednesday.

Off to read a little bit of James Spencer and then off to bed.

The Labrador Retriever on my blog page

By the way, the Black Labrador Retriever posted on my blog is “HR Shadowhill’s The Hunter’s Blu Shadow JH.”  Call name, Blu. This photo was taken by Total Retriever Photography

Blu was competing in his HRC Seasoned Hunt Test at Southern IL Hunting Retriever Club’s annual HRC test.  Blu passed his test.  This is one of my favorite photos of Blu.  I snapped this when he had retrieved the duck but was watching the diversion bird.  He was intent, that’s for sure.  Blu will continue to compete for his titles this fall.

Meet Blu

Blu, Black Labrador Retriever

Blu, Black Labrador Retriever

This is Blu, my black Labrador Retriever.  He’s the only who started it all for me.  We are getting ready to do a breeding with Blu and Angel.  I need to get their pedigrees scanned and post them here for everyone to see.  It will be a beautiful litter of yellow and black Labrador retriever puppies.

Time to post about other topics.  I’ll be back shortly.

Morning Coffee with my Chocolate Lab

Kimber

I’m sitting on the deck drinking my coffee while typing this blog.  Kimber is sitting here beside me.  Together we are deciding what we will write today.

Actually, at this time I am doing a test on my blog.  I’m trying to get the blog to show reverse chronological order and it’s not showing up that way so far.  I’m usually pretty good with “techie” stuff but I’m having a time with this.  I think it maybe because I edited the time on my introduction blog, thus pushing it up to the top.  Thinking out loud here.

Here goes the test.  We will be back shortly.  It’s Angel’s turn to come outside with Mom for a bit.

See you at the line,

Wendy

Introduction

Good morning. My name is Wendy Porch and I currently blog for D3TV. My blog for D3TV is about Labrador Retrievers in the hunting world.

However, I am a Conservative and I’ve decided that I also want to write and/or vent about politics as well and I don’t believe it’s appropriate to blog on D3TV with regard to my personal interests.  So, I’ve decided to open another blog to write about all of my personal interests as well as blog for D3TV!

In this blog, I will write about Life with Labradors, Upcoming Labrador Retriever Litters, Dogs, Animal Health and Nutrition, Politics, Family, Military Working Dogs, DoD, and much more. It maybe a venting board at times. Who knows?

Please stay tuned as I am sure it will be most interesting!

Thank you,
Wendy Porch
